The Walnut Group is a Prostate Cancer Support Group, formed in 2011, that seeks to help newly diagnosed men and their families in a positive way on their journey within a different social environment.

Partners, wives, friends are all welcome at the monthly meetings which attract a regular attendance of approximately 35 people.

The group has a varied social calendar, and speakers attend meetings from time to time. The meetings are informal gatherings with like minded people, and are a welcome place for those whose world has suddenly changed.

The group aim to influence and improve patient experiences by being involved in awareness events, research and attending related seminars.

The Walnut Group organises and manages PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) testing events, and so far some 1200 men have been tested locally.
